David Azéma, former general manager for finance and strategy at SNCF group was appointed deputy CEO on October 17th, 2011. A position created by Guillaume Pepy, the French railway company president, in order to prepare deregulation and some more reforms in the rail industry.

A central purchasing agency for public transport
The French association for independent public transport, Agir, has launched Sept. 8, 2011 a central agency allowing local transport authorities to pool their purchases of buses, coaches, fuel, tires, bus shelters, drivers costumes, and why not ... tramways. With a 2% commission on purchases.

The French public transport organization elects its new president on June 9
Still directed by Cyrille du Peloux (Veolia Transdev), the public transport organization (UTP) must soon elect a new president. In the meantime, Mobilicités has obtained the list of members of the Board which opens to new rail and urban operators. Moreover, senator Grignon was appointed administrator of the French railway public company SNCF.

Philippe Mellier to leave Alstom transport
The president of the French rail manufacturer will join on 1st July 2011 the South African group De Beers, as general manager of diamond industry leader. Patrick Kron, the current CEO of Alstom, will will be acting as president of Alstom Transport until Philippe Mellier's replacement.

RATP: Cyril Condé takes over the running of RER
Cyril Condé, currently head of the metro line 14 was appointed director of the RERdepartment from 1 June 2011. And Michel Daguerregaray, from May 1, becomes director of project management of the extension of line 14 which RATP, the Parisian metro operator, is trying to place in the future automated metro of Grand Paris.
