Road safety : new measures in France but no 20mph speed limit in town
Following the increase in road deaths, the French minister of Interior confirmed May 11, 2011 that new measures would be applied "by September". The crime of high speeding is reinforced from the first offense, radar detectors are banned, and the legal rate of alcohol in blood (0.8 g/l) remains unchanged. 30km/h speed limit in town is out of question and mobile phone headsets are still legal while driving.

Keolis preferred bidder for a new tram in Australia
French railway operator SNCF, Keolis announced May 6, 2011 the company was preferred bidder for the operation of a tramway in Queensland, north-eastern Australia. A public-private partnership contract for about 730 million euros. The construction of the tram falls to the Canadian manufacturer Bombardier.
